How do I get to the Sugar Wharf?

 

It is easy to get to Taste Port Douglas by local shuttle bus, car, bike or foot. Signage will be very clear from the entrance on Dixie Street.

 

Where do I buy tickets?

 

Tickets can be bought via Trybooking in advance or at the entrance on the day. 

 

What are the event opening times?

 

Taste Port Douglas runs from 9.30pam - 4.30pm on Saturday 24th May, 2014. Final timetable of presentations will be posted on the website the week of the event.

 

How much are each of the dishes at the restaurants?

 

The average dish at Taste Port Douglas is $5-10.

 

Will there be ATM facilities on site?

 

No. There are numerous ATMs on Macrossan Street. All stalls will operate on a cash basis, so it is advised you bring cash with you. In case you run out, and just don't have quite enough for that last bottle/jar/taste of deliciousness, there will be minimal cash-out facilities on site. Check with one of the many marshalls who will point you in the right direction.

 

Will the event be affected by unfortunate weather circumstances?

 

Unless advised by the local authority, the event will go ahead despite any weather circumstances. So hail, rain or shine, Taste Port Douglas will thrive no matter what! As this is an outdoor festival, please wear appropriate footwear as weather conditions may vary throughout.

 

Should the weather turn for the worst, there is a covered marquee area, and the Sugar Wharf is a roofed building. 

 

Taste Port Douglas reserve the right to cancel or change event dates, time, line up and venue as required. Tickets purchased to the festival are non-refundable. Alternative dates and times may be issued to ticket holders at the discretion and decision of the organisers.

 

Do children under 5 require a ticket to attend?

 

No, but proof of identification may be required.

 

Are there any age limits?

 

No! Everyone and anyone is welcome. Due to licencing, however, under 18s will need to be accompanied by an adult.

 

Can I bring my own food and/or drink?

 

No food will be permitted into the site premises. Only bottled water will be allowed.

 

Is smoking permitted on site?

 

There is no smoking onsite at Taste Port Douglas. The Sugar Wharf is a Heritage-listed building, and it is a smoke-free venue.

 

Is the site wheelchair friendly?

 

Yes it is.

 

Are pets allowed?

 

Only guide dogs will be permitted on site. No pets allowed.
